March Education Event – Data: The Nuts and Bolts to Effective Information
Join the WPA HIMSS Chapter and Chatham University for our annual joint event. Three members of the Business Intelligence team at Allegheny Health Network will be speaking and answering questions in a panel discussion. There will be networking receptions before and after the program.

Speakers
Francis Pessolano is a Manager of Technology Innovations in Business Intelligence Applications at Allegheny Health Network. Francis leads the BI Applications team, a group that focuses on development and support of reporting tools, data analytics and functionalities that are from Epic Systems’ Cogito platform. Over the last 13 years Francis has worked to develop and support several application modules within the Epic program including Ambulatory, Inpatient, Phoenix, Beacon and Willow. He has worked in various roles to support clinical and operational customers in an effort to enhance functionality and optimize system usage. He is well versed in workflow design, system building, implementation, support and optimization. Currently he manages the team responsible for Dashboard and Report design, development and enhancement. The team’s goal is to work to provide effective and efficient clinical and operational decision making tools which results in improved organizational stability and positive patient outcomes. Francis has a BS in Health Management Systems/Pre-Health from Duquesne University and a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. His education and professional career has been devoted to Healthcare and Health IT.
Karen Delon is a Manager of Technology Innovations in Business Intelligence System Administration (BISA) at Allegheny Health Network. She leads the BISA team who are the system administrators of Epic’s Cogito platform of systems including Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, SAP Business Objects and Epic Cubes, in addition to Tableau administration. This is the foundation of our AHN Analytic Data. She’s worked in the data warehousing and business intelligence arena for more than 10 years with combined experience at larger Pittsburgh organizations such as PPG, EDMC and AHN. Her IT experience spans 20 years. Karen holds 2 certifications. In 2005 she obtained a PMP and in 2013 she became a Certified SCRUM Master. She holds an AAS in Police Science from Youngstown State University and a BS in Information Systems Management from Robert Morris University, graduating Cum Laude. Karen is a proponent of open and direct communication and believes teams should be a supportive unit. When not at work, Karen is an active volunteer for teen groups at the Highmark Caring Place in Warrendale. Karen is also highly engaged in HMHS WomenLEADIT and is a co-chair of the Influence sub-committee. She’s an early 4am riser to get in a PiYo workout before heading to work. Oddly, she’s an energized ball of sunshine as she begins her workday.
Diane Dansevicus is a Business Intelligence Analyst in Business Intelligence Applications at Allegheny Health Network. She’s an analyst implementing a fun and cool reporting tool that cuts up healthcare data. Diane “bleeds Black and Gold” and loves all things data in Pittsburgh. She is very involved in Toastmasters and is the Vice President of Membership for Allegheny Health Network’s corporate club. She is also involved in HMHS WomenLeadIT and is a member of multiple subcommittees. Diane is also the Employee Liaison for Allegheny Health Network’s IT Employee council. Diane has held many different positions over her career and never really expected to be where she is today. She rolls with the punches and her flexibility has led her to where she is now.
